Does anyone know if Oisin McCauley recorded anything prior to joining Danu? I've just heard some cuts from the album of solos by the band members. He's a great fiddler.
He is fantastic. Not sure about earlier recordings, but I have all the Danu stuff (he's not on all of them, jus the most recent 3 I think.) I just saw them two weeks ago and was chatting with him afterwards - a very nice guy. He plays a 5 string He has also just put out a fiddle tutor book which includes a cd. I bought one at the show.
Hmm,is the tutor more beginner oriented with lots of Dots?, or is it style specific. It might be worth it just for the CD. I really loved the track on the last album that he does the two highlands and reel on. On the others, he's swallowed up in the mix, so it's difficult to hear the fine points of his tone and style.
