Hmmm, the rest of my post (above) seems to have disappeared.
Anyways, abcmus is the best player I've ever used; it gets the accents and ornaments right for almost any rhythm type. You can actually hear a difference if you switch between reel and hornpipe and no rhythm at all!
I have a program named Mid2ABC which converts midi files to abc. I don't remember where I got it, however. For general abc players, I consider ABCMUS to be my favorite.
I really like ABCMus as well, especially the autochord assignment feature. There is one problem I continually have with it, though. When I use it to do any work on a large file of ABC tunes, it frequently messes up the file by putting dozens of copies of each tune in the file. Then the next time I open the file in ABC2Win, it has swollen up to 2000 tunes and I have to go in and manually take out all the duplicates.

Re: ABC Player Recommendations
Is there one where you can input a midi file and it will output the abc?

Re: ABC Player Recommendations
I'm always using the ABC convertor at Concertina.net. http://www.concertina.net/tunes_convert.html It's not perfect, but we don't have to download it and it's very handy.

If you are a Mac user, Barfly is a *fantastic* ABC program.

Anybody else have this happen?
