What a composer! And what a player! I know one of his compositions through Scottish group Malinky's recording. Well, I don't think I can play it. I had a glance at his photography pages. That's also fantastic.

So thats what those silver bits are for......

You can see how he's influenced Neill Keegan
That jig No8 in G ( I'am prety sure Neill recorded ... ? "Don't touch the Elk" or some such... )

Great Player.

Re: Great Original Compositions by Tom McElvogue

Great to hear, read Tommy's doing so well.I played regularly with Tommy in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, along with Mary Larkin, and Chris Jordan, RIP, and the "GIFT" was so apparent then.
He'd have a new tune come out in a twiddle of those magic fingers, and he entranced so many people at the Gallowgate Irish Centre.
There was one night when Karen Tweed was playing there, and she invited him up to play, and another musician refused him onto the stage (apparently some feud); I declined to play if there should be any discrimination, and show some support for him. Tommy bore it all with great courage and integrity, and we had many fantastic sessions over the years.
His sister is a pretty hot musician too!
