I have just started putting a few tunes on "The Session" and have emailed a couple of members. I sent the mail to myself to see if all was working O.K. but my mail was full of the following caracters “ - everytime I typed a hyphen up pops “
I have done a search on the Discussions and “ pops up quite a lot. I think if I type a hyphen now ' it will pop up again. I'm sure somebody must know how to get rid of the dreaded “ -

A possibility - this problem has arisen many times in discussion board postings, and it's usually because someone has been writing their input in a word processor such as Word before pasting it into a discussion. This may be because word processors can have hidden code for various characters which manifests as “ or something similar. The reliable solution is either to use the input facilities (both for discussion inputs and thesession.org emails between members) provided by this site, or to use a text processor such as Notepad or Wordpad before pasting it into an input box.

Thanks, Trevor - I caught a dose of the #8220s myself in a comment 2 days ago. I think you may be right in the cause of it, because it was a long comment, and it was processed elsewhere
and "pasted". Probably safest not to "copy & paste", but for one reason or another it's not always convenient to post directly on to the site.

Thanks for that Trevor, I did copy and paste from Word, mainly to check my spelling before posting. I'll just have to get my speling rite in the futaure!!!!

Sorry to take so long in welcoming mikk to the session. I'm sure you'll fit right in - some of our best friends are newish. I hope you are successful in avoiding the use of four-digit numbers here, because we do have some youngsters reading these discussions from time to time. We don't want to run afoul of their parents by exposing them to such obscenity.

I have not got the problem on the Discussion Board 'cause I can type ''''''' and they are OK. I only have the problem when sending mails.
