Need help!!!

Need help!!!

I need to find out the names for some tunes that I've recorded.
On http://www.brianhaitz.de.vu there are now quite a few samples to listen to. Under "album" and then "some samples" you will find them.
I especially picked ones of which I don't yet know a name.

If anyone knows a name for a tune, I'd be very happy if you'd let me know! Any help is very much apreciated!

Cheers

Brian

Re: Need help!!!

I recognised a couple: "The Gatehouse Maid" http://thesession.org/tunes/display.php/941 and "Paddy Fahy's" http://thesession.org/tunes/display.php/463

Re: Need help!!!

What a nice playing! I'm not a talented player but very good at identifying tunes. The first reel before "The Gatehouse Maid" is "The Malbay Shuffle" http://thesession.org/tunes/display.php/1060 and the jig is "Ard Baithen." M. Shuffle is Diarmaid Moynihan's composition, and the jig is Tommy Peoples', so you may have to mind the copyright of the tunes.

And, before ask somebody in this discussion space, you may search for the tunes by entering ABCs of the tunes in the tunes section of this site.

Re: Need help!!!

Thanks very, very much! That helps a lot. Allthough I better check about the copyrights. But the cd is not yet officially released so I can still change things
But let me try to get this straight. The two reels of the first sample are "The Malbay Shuffle" and "The Gatehouse Maid" is that right? In this order?
The second sample is "Tommy People's" and "Paddy Fahy's"?

I'd a really apreciate help! Thanks a lot already!

Re: Need help!!!

Bitte, bitte.

The tunes on the second sample must be Ard Baithen/ Paddy Fahy's. When I heard the first tune on the second sample, I remember it's somewhere on Tommy Peoples' new album "Waiting for a Call." Check it yourself: http://trillian.mit.edu/~jc/cgi/abc/gettune?F=PNG&U=http://www.cranfordpub.com/tunes/abcs/peoples.abc&X=1&T=ARDBAITHEN&N=ArdBaithen.png

Re: Need help!!!

Brian, as I told you, you should search for the tunes in the tunes section of this site by yourself. But, anyway, this is the last time I help you through this site. The jigs you've just updated are "The Old Tipperary" (http://thesession.org/tunes/display.php/2599)/ "The Hag with the Money" (http://thesession.org/tunes/display.php/351)

They're great tunes I've been itching to learn as a beginner whistle players (just 2 years). I'm really impressed by your choices and combinations of the tunes as well as your playing.

All the best.

Re: Need help!!!

Sorry, but it doesn't seem to work out. I've tried searching with ABC notation but I must be doing something wrong in the notation. Anyway, thanks a lot for your help, I really appreciate it.

Well, it all takes time. It took me 10 years to play as well as that so I guess you're doing very well, with only 2 years.

Anyway, thanks again.
