Liam Brown's Polka

Liam Brown's Polka

At least that's what I THINK its called. I can't find the written music and was hoping someone could find and post it.

Many thanks, it's a wicked good tune.

Re: Liam Brown's Polka

Go to the session links page, in tune collections, follow the link to JC'sABC tune finder. Everything you could ever think of is there. Good luck!

Re: Liam Brown's Polka

It's not in JC's database, Tyghress do you know any of it, I know a lot of polkas but I don't know many of names?.

Re: Liam Brown's Polka

{humming scraps of it for MB and dancing around the room}

Did that help?

If I recall, it's a three part polka, sounds absolutely fabulous on the banjo, and is either in D or G. Beyond that, I can't remember tunes unless I've learned them.

Re: Liam Brown's Polka

Well, that's definitely helpful, Tiggy. Will you be at the session tonight? Maybe we can get someone to play it for us there. Where did you hear it?

Re: Liam Brown's Polka

Heya, Bloomfield! Yes, I was at session, but the aftermath. . .oh my. Let's just say I'm going back to whiskey and saving the schnapps for after dinner.

Liam Brown's is played by Mike the banjo player who comes to the occasional Sunday session. I think I'll ask Tommy if he can write it down for me. He either knows it or can fake it pretty well.

Re: Liam Brown's Polka

So Tyghress, once you have someone transcribe it, you'll be sure to post it here for us all, right? No fair teasing us about this "wicked good tune" and then not sharing :-)
