could someone point out a few online places where I could hear same mp3 tunes of jigs and reels and also see the sheet music or ABC. would prefer real people playing not midi
I have been out of playing for a long while now and would like to find a few cool online FREE learning sites, to get me back in the swing.
Try mattandshannonheaton.com. Shannon teaches a new tune each month (and there is a archive of past tunes) in a very nice fashion, slow and then up to speed.
Michael Clarkson has an absolute stack of stuff. He doesn't "teach" the tunes, but he plays them, once slowly so you can catch the bits of it and then another time or two at a more session-ish tempo so you can put the bits together.

No sheet music there, but if you find something there that you like, you can probably find the dots on this very site, and there you are.

Shannon's slow playing is so impeccable, you can forget about the sheet/ABC -- not that you shouldn't anyway! (stirs pot, ducks for cover...
