Can anyone name the song sung by Johnny Moynihan in 'Ceird an Cheoil'? Someone suggested 'Sonny Boy' but I think it's just someone taking a guess. Click on link below:
That is a lovely song! I did a google search and couldnt find anything, also no credits at the end (see video 4/4). I would also like to know the tune at the end of vid 4/4 that Foley is playing on the zouk.
Well as a matter of fact, I can tell you exactly where it came from. Joe composed it himself. The reason I know that is because I was in his house collecting my brand spankin new bouzouki the other day and I asked him. He was pretty chuffed when it was the first thing I started playing to try it out.
I'm determined to get the info on that J.Moynihan song though...! I will succeed!

Folks ... I have some news on that Johnny Moynihan song and its a mixture of both good and bad news. I was talking to Johnny and asked him about the song, what it's called, what recordings I could find it on etc. and of course could I have a copy of the lyrics.
Anyway the bad news.... it turns out the song was never recorded, As far as I could tell it's a song Johnny was working on at the time of the filming of the documentary. He had forgotten even playing it on there. Said he was jamming a few tunes and the cameras were rolling so I guess they decided to keep that one in the documentary. I don't think it even has a song title yet.
The good news is that Johnny has decided to record the song and it will be released in some form or other in 2-3 months (he hopes) I hope so too it's a cracker already.
