Names for Two Reels .. Please?

Names for Two Reels .. Please?

Someone is looking for the names of the two Reels on this video ... being too long in the tooth now, I had to say I didn't remember, but I knew you guys wouldn't let him down! ;-)

N.B. We only get 7 secs of the 2nd Reel ... it starts at 2.15

Re: Names for Two Reels .. Please?

The first one is called Crowley's Reel, plus a whole other slew of names. You can find it over at http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/281, except in the video they play it in Dm instead of Em (well, it's actually D dorian, but close enough).

I can't help you with the second tune, but as it is, I'm just excited that I finally was able to identify a tune for someone on The Session. :-)

Re: Names for Two Reels .. Please?

It's a 3-part D setting of Miss Patterson's Slipper though. Paddy Glackin plays it on In Full Spate (http://www.thesession.org/recordings/display/36).

Re: Names for Two Reels .. Please?

In the last few seconds, they go into Mulhaire's No.1.

Re: Names for Two Reels .. Please?

Oops, scrub that, it's not Mulhaire's played in C, is it? More like a straightened-out version of Andy McGann's.

Re: Names for Two Reels .. Please?

I have the second tune in my head, it's driving me nuts. I think the B part starts like this, perhaps someone can pin it down from this fragment.

K:D
a2 fd Adfd | Adfd e3 d| e3 f g3 a | b2 ge bege | a2 fd Adfd | Adfd e3 ...
