Re: Joe Foley Mandolin for sale

If the Rolling Stones embark on a world tour and want me to play mandolin on it, I might consider it.

for a session, Ozark, about £120.

Re: Joe Foley Mandolin for sale

Aye Bliss, that's all very well, but can you hear an Ozark behind a Bag of Chips? ;-)

You certainly wouldn't leave that Foley just lying around, when you went for a Pee!

Re: Joe Foley Mandolin for sale

Having owned a number of mandolins.... about 4 years ago I finally "bit the bullet" and asked Joe to make me one and fit the Fishman pickup . It's the BEST thing I ever did... Reading yer man ad it looks like he HAS to sell it... I really do feel his pain...!

Re: Joe Foley Mandolin for sale

Very nice looking mandolin indeed.

I would rather play it than play an Ozark.

Re: Joe Foley Mandolin for sale

If his playing is anything like his lack of punctuation, I'm not surprised he's selling it!

Re: Joe Foley Mandolin for sale

Yep, this business of typing everything lower case with little or no punctuation is something that I've noticed steadily creeping into the way of things in Ireland these days.

I sell goods online and purchasers fill in the delivery details etc. I've been noticing that the vast majority of customers from UK, Europe and the USA etc., invariably write out their address with capitals and commas etc. Whereas it's common with Irish customers to find a mish mash of text that has to be retyped.

I reckon it's probably got to do with that long standing Irish traditional practice of texting! I'll admit myself that I can rarely be bothered to try and get a Capital if I'm texting a message let alone a fullstop. (Anyway, whoever came up with the insane idea of typing messges on a phone keypad?) But there's a time and a place for everything and elsewhere it just comes across as sloppiness and laziness. (end of rant)!!

I would rather drive a Bentley than a Lada but the Lada will still do the job.

If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well.
