The fiddler Lisa Ornstein (Portland, Oregon, USA) has played and researched Acadien music for many years.. she is a good source.. also if you are a part of the Yahoo group 'quebecnw ' , they post Acadien tunes for the members. (they are a Seattle-based quebecois discussion group)
The banjo player on the video is Kenneth Saulnier from Saulnierville in La Baie Sainte Marie, Nova Scotia. Let me tell you that he is a great fiddle, banjo, mandoline. guitar, player, and sing and write songs..

Not as hard as it is to listen to!

This following website report that it was composed by the great metis fiddler Andy Dejarlis.

He did record it on a LP entitled Red River Echoes.

I just checked Paul Cranford's site, and he has one book with Québécois, and a couple of Canadian tune books.
Have you emailed him? He does respond to questions from tune collectors he might be able to send you in the right direction.
Acadien music is held richly in tradition, and very well passed along aurally, good luck finding that tune! Have you got it in a recording?

Re: Acadien Fiddle Music is hard to find
I gratuitously insulted Acadien music by mistake, thinking it was *Cajun* music...
I have to admit, Cajun music sounds to me like a potato riddling machine singing.
