Yes, this is on it too, but I'm hoping others will add thier wish lists here too ~ a recording, a musical instrument, a book. What do you long for? ~ within some kind of reason, but if you want to think big, in relationship to the topics that fall under this website, please do. I appreciate the mad too...
On the dream list ~ classes/workshops with certain talented and patient others, and materials ~ toward building a fiddle for myself and a guitar for my wife...
I've just ordered Fidil's new album from Claddagh Records along with Harry Bradley and Michael Clarkson's flute duet recording and Claire Keville's solo concertina album.
And yes, the flight ticket to Britain and Ireland to meet some old familiar faces, including you, 'c.'
The grin is painful, we're honoured... Nice list too Hiro...
On other wants for the holidays ~ pickled fish, blue cheese and booze... We've set aside one Scottish Single Malt, and I'm hoping for an Irish one too, and maybe a really nice ages Cuban rum too...
But, there is no better gift that that of the company of good friends, so knowing you'll be visiting is a very pleasant thing to look forward too... Thanks for raising my spirits, even if the grin aches a bit.. I'd better start seriously knocking off the rust...
I know an aged Cuban who is a bit Rum does that count ?
I would like a winning lottery ticket.
Or a new toy from Mr Foley
Or a new job when I move to France
Thats the plan .
To stay with tooty Flutey Go across at Christmas and if all goes well come back, wind up my affairs in Feb return to france for good...ish.
You've taken the challenge, best of luck! We're both fond of France, except for their military police the Gendarmes, who we can legally shoot anyone they please, no questions asked... Be sure not to get on their bad side, and watch out for thier road traps, looking for anything to pull folks over and slap them with a fine, especially if it's not a French license plate... You'll do well, I'm sure.
No snow, sleet, or freezing rain in the continental US until January 1. Then Mother Nature can snow, sleet, and freeze the rain like all hell. But just not until then.
I guess a bottle of Havana Club wouldn't hurt. The older bottles are excellent but their Anejo Blanco is the best whites in the world. Buy both, if you have the chance.
Trusting slainte's recommendations I placed Ciarán Ó Maonaigh and Aidan O'Donnell's first album "Fidil" on order with a couple of other recommendations from this discussion, as gifts for my wife. This one finally arrived this week. It is all a matter of personal taste and opinion, two of us in this case, but "Fidil" was such a disappointment, didn't even tickly me feet, they were asleep, so, trusting that instinctive response, "Fidil 3" has now been removed from our wish list...
