Re: Need Help finding a title of a tune -Not A Request
This strikes bells in my memory but I haven't everything at hand to do a decent search, books and notes, but, so far, no luck... I'll keep looking, and checking back here in hopes someone will come up with a useful answer...
Here are two verses of this, the second and third of six ~
~
Yesterday at half past four
They pushed their currach from the shore
One took the net while one took the oar
The two fishermen Conneeley
From Connor's fort and from Synge's chair
Towards Inis Mor and Inis Iarr
They scour the sea in silent prayer
As they go searching for their neighbours
~
This wasn't the one I had in mind, but a nice reminder and a welcomed return listen to Christy Moore singing this again...
This is about a tragic incident around the Aran Islands... The one I was trying to remember, I believe, was off the coast of Galway, which is where the Aran Islands lie, but... ?

Need Help finding a title of a tune -Not A Request
Hi all
Heard a song on the radio a long time ago and I am trying to find the title of this song so I can search for it..
Basically it is about a fishing tragedy and the most repeated words in it refer to the brothers kinsella or boys kinsella..
I would say it is a slow air but if anyone has any idea I would be much appreciated..
Thanks in advance
Liam

How is it not a request?
A demand?

It's the two fishermen coneeleys. It's sung by Christie Moore. It's on the "river of sound" cd.
