Here's a live demo of 3QuarterSet 1.0 using my Benedict Koehler chanter in a practice set configuration, with the iPhone on a foam block attached via a velcro wrap around my leg:
Pardon my ignorance. I had to look it up just to be sure I understand how one works the regulators; http://www.bcpipes.com/pipes.html#anchor366205
How, exactly, do you work the regulators, on your i-touch, while simultaneously playing the practice set?
I realize the answer is self evident to pipers. Might you humour the rest of us with a little bit of detail? Is it easy, more difficult, or exactly the same as regular regulators?
My jaw has still dropped after seeing a Beta v.1 for anything uilleann.
It feels similar in some ways, but without the pressure control requirements and skills associated with the real thing. My primary set that it was based on is a Kirk Lynch 3/4 set and so I know how the real instrument feels to play. I've only had it fully working for about a day, so its been very interesting playing with it. If you forget that you're playing a virtual instrument, its very easy to start having the experience of playing real regs, the mind plays tricks on you. The spread is narrower because of the screen size, but since I have small hands that's actually a good thing. The one big difference is that with a small surface to work with, it didn't make sense to implement individual keys, the regs in the program only play in the common pairs. Perhaps I'll add that in a future release, but it turns out that the velcro I use to strap it to my leg would obscure one of the regs, most likely for live performance, it will remain just reg pairs.

Re: 3QuarterSet 1.0 Preview
That's amazing. Regulators for the poor! Well, the poorer since iPhones aren't cheap but they are a hell of a lot cheaper than real live regs.

Re: 3QuarterSet 1.0 Preview
You don't need an iPhone, specifically. It also works with the iPod Touch.

Why should 3QuarterSet be limited to just Uilleann pipers? Here's a demo using a Bb/F Anglo Concertina...

Re: 3QuarterSet 1.0 Preview
Just submitted both 3QuarterSet and 3QuarterSetFree to the iTunes App Store for review.

The free version has all the features as the paid version, but only supports the key of C#. Those of you with a C# set, rejoice!
Hopefully, I didn't do anything stupid and Apple will quickly approve both apps and get them up on the store.
Cheers,
Michael
