Okay I 've committed a sin.....I posted a request for...any sessions is Key West in Florida? It was deleted. I did a session search ...no luck.......I did a member search....no luck. The session section only invites you to submit a session.......so where do I ask the question?
Fishing sessions ?
Drinking sessions ?
Alligator-wrestling sessions ?
It's nice down there, but all my New york out-laws retired there for the climate and never leave their air-conditioning.
Why go looking for sessions ?
Just hang out, enjoy the vibe, relax.
The atmosphere isn't good for wooden instruments anyway.
Thanks Ceolachan for your helpful link. Joesmith I was hoping to establish whether it would be worth taking the risk of taking an instrument on an aircraft before I left. If there are no sessions I'll just leave it at home. My apologies Guernsey Pete I thought I'd posted the question on the Alligator-wrestling session.org website.....................by the way, going to sessions is how I enjoy the vibe and relax.
Sorry I can't help with the Keys or with FL sessions in general. I don't get out for sessions since moving to South Florida -- that coincided with starting a family which has kept me busy. But there are some good musicians living in this area, notably fiddler James Kelly in Miami Springs who can be contacted for lessons etc. via his website:

I just heard that The Field pub in Dania has some nice musicians playing tonight, including piper Eamonn Dillon and a friend of mine from Boston who is down here to record:
If you are already in the Keys and are willing to drive as far north as Dania, you should. You might well have a chance to meet and introduce yourself to several local musicians and find out if there is a session that would suit you.
Trying to find things out - a fairly straightforward activity in at least some parts of the real world - is made a gruelling and contorted ordeal for aspiring Sessioners. The idea behind this is that chasing sessions round the planet is good training for following Irish tunes as they belt like souped-up groundhogs through their demented knotty mazes. It is also good training for pursuing souped-up groundhogs through their demented knotty mazes. It will make you a better person. Well, they said that about Fifties school food...
Hey! I replied to this one last week...then it got deleted!
There's one Irish pub in Key West, and it's for tourists. Got the usual man with guitar singing the Wild Rover, etc.
I'm up the coast a bit on the West side, and jwvansteenwyk is up the coast in Miami on the East side. We can take care of you if you get up that way, but Key West itself is dead for music, sorry!
Woe, woe and thrice woe!
Woe, woe and thrice woe!

Sorry, cross-posted, now I see you haven't arrived yet. But those contacts would be a start even if you come down later in the year.
