... the best place of old triangles is down by the banks of the Royal canal ...

or better still, IN the canal .... ;-)

Mr. P, Halloween is long over, please stop scaring us!

Halloween, SWFL?

I'm reminded of an old Cornish proverb....

From ghoulies and ghosties,
And long-leggety beasties,
And things that go "bump" in the night:
Good Lord, deliver us.

... i've added foot triangles to the deliverance list ... ;-)

Re: Be afraid, be very afraid! ........... The Foot Triangle!

Funnily enough, a local guitarist has asked if I could make him a stomp-box with snares in it like a cajon.

Having watched that I think I know what my answer will be.

Amen Mix, good folk there! I'd settle for a ghostie or a beastie over a triangle any dark night!

Whenever someone brings something like that to the session, we like to confiscate it, play Blaze Away and turn the band into a fairground organ.

Re: Be afraid, be very afraid! ........... The Foot Triangle!

Well, SWFL, it's perhaps just as well that you said "good folk there", my surname being quite a common one down there in Kernow!

But "toujours cherchez le double entendre".

The Cornishman who coined that proverb was actually referring to bodhrans when he said "and things that go bump in the night" ...... ;-)

Re: Be afraid, be very afraid! ........... The Foot Triangle!

What if, instead of being delivered "From ghoulies and ghosties, And long-leggety beasties, And things that go 'bump' in the night:", you want to be delivered to them?

Re: Be afraid, be very afraid! ........... The Foot Triangle!

OTOH we could tell all the bodhran players about this new technique: put your drum on the floor, place a couple of knives on it, now stand on the knives...

Re: Be afraid, be very afraid! ........... The Foot Triangle!

Faux - I don't think that you've quite understood the meaning of that old Cornish proverb ...

Its: Delivered FROM them - not TO them .... :-)

Re: Be afraid, be very afraid! ........... The Foot Triangle!

Thank you Mix. I did understand the proverb. I was just trying to be silly and ridiculous. I was trying to turn and flip the meaning of the proverb around backwards (as a member of the Addams family might do). Yes, I was being flippant although I don't have any flippers as a proper bass player ought to have.

*Trying* to be silly, Faux?

... and there was me a thinking that you were usually silly without even trying .... ;-)

Yes, Mix, sometimes when I attempt to inject a little humor into the proceedings on this web site, I succeed beyond my tamest expectations.
