For those interested, the waltz been played by the whistle player is called 'The Louis Waltz' and Jim McKillop plays a nice version on this link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgBeHc6umvo
I did facebook for about a month. I quit when I realized it was pointless to have red-faced political arguments with clueless twits I knew for 10 minutes 25 years ago. I much rather prefer having red-faced pointless arguments here, on the yellowboard, about dots and performances with twits I have never even met.
Thanks for the Jim McKillop link Free Reed
I don't why I hadn't heard of him before. Probably because I live under a rock.
A lot of folk in Scotland are familiar with the tune from Aly Bain's version,
"I much rather prefer having red-faced pointless arguments here, on the yellowboard, about dots and performances with twits I have never even met."
Why thank you for calling me a "twit", Jusa Nutter Eejit, that is sooo sweet of you (he said jokingly and sarcastically). I have been called many things but never a "twit".
Seriously, though, I enjoyed your comment just as much as bc_box_player and I think it is Funny (as well as being true).
I was just trying to respond humorously and ridiculously in a silly way to Jusa Nutter Eejit's comment, No Cause For Alarm, as well as injecting some humor into this discussion. Speaking of humor.....if I am a "twit", should I be on Twitter?
Yes, playing the tune simply is better than using excessive ornamentation.
And, last but not least, since the topic of this discussion is supposed to be Facebook, I am on Facebook under my real name and I am also a member of The Session.Org Appreciation Society on Facebook.
I am sure you were. I just meant I don't think he said twit. I figured he used an A instead of an I. I accept I was wrong though and JNE was just being unusually polite.
I am also on Facebook and on the Session.org appreciation society group. I am easy enough to find on it but unless I have met you in person there is no point in adding each other. It is not Myspace after all.

If you use facebook and this site:

It seems a bit quiet - people only seem to post there when they can't log on here for some reason

Re: Facebook
Someone in Ric' video mentioned lederhosen. But as far as I know, this is a waltz played by French Canadians. It could be a great valse-clogue.

Re: Facebook
Gosh. French Canadian tune that reminded someone of lederhosen played in an English style. What a mixture.

I think JNE got caught by the auto-censor. I wouldn't worry fauxcelt. I don't think he actually said twit!

Nice playing. Looks like a lovely session.
I have many friends on facebook I haven't met yet, but hope to one day. Especially folks here on the yellow board.

Re: Facebook
I thought "twit" was quite appropriate for the discussion at hand - if I'd have wanted to convey something a bit stronger, I'd have simply typed tw@t.
No need to excessively overplay ornaments when the tune calls for something simple right?
