Isn't there a law there about curbing your dog? There is here in SF and there's a hefty fine if you're caught. It has prompted everyone who has a dog to follow them around with plastic bags ready to collect their droppings. If John installed cameras then the offenders could be caught and fined... unless curbing only applies to actual dogs I suppose.

Gulp! I once knew a fella shot a guy in the foot defending his chickens. The guy stealing the chickens from the fella's private property laid charges against him ... it was very serious. It seems there is a risk of getting into legal hassles using a deterrent that could be injurious to people whether innocent or guilty or maybe even lethal to someone with a weak ticker who happens on a "live" puddle (whereever in the world it may happen). Also presumably where the offending is taking place is public space, on the street ... it sounds a bit tricky to me despite the obvious distress that repeated urinating must be causing to a Trad institution ... but what would I know, hey? Nobody ever gets drunk, defecates or urinates, at all around here ... ha ha!
