Johnny ‘Ringo’ McDonagh – Bodhran
This is the debut recording of the well-known county Carlow duet of Dave Sheridan on fiddle and Ciaran Somers on flute. The two players are noted for the energy and sense of enjoyment that they bring to their music. The album was mainly recorded in Brittany, France at the studio of Nicolas Quemener who accompanies them here on guitar
Originally from county Offaly, Dave has performed with a number of groups, most recently with the Kilkenny based ensemble ‘Aontas’. Ciaran Somers teaches the Flute at the annual Willie Clancy Summer School and also plays the Uilleann pipes. He has toured with a number of groups including ‘The Geantraí players’ who were guests of the Chinese Embassy in Beijing in 2008.
Dave, Ciaran and Nicolas play traditional music from all parts of Ireland and have been expanding their repertoire of Breton music in recent times.

The CD has just been pressed and should be available from Custy's and possibly Claddagh in the next week.
The CD will be launched in Brittany later in the year also, it will be available from the 'Keltia Musique' store there.

That's 2 great flute players there. I'll buy that without even hearing a note of it. If I lived on the island of Ireland, I'd be at one of those gigs.
