Swedish music videos (OK not ITM but great fun)

Hi - here are some videos of Anna Rynefors and Erik Ask-Upmark. They are known as DrĂ¥m and performed in a wonderful medieval hall in 2008 in Stamford, Lincolnshire.

I did the other half of the concert, and when I wasn't playing, videoed their performances. I've been shamefully lazy in not editing them and only just put them together - there are more to come as I get my act together, but I hope you enjoy these three:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg67NFkiC0E - Nyckelharpa and harp

and

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XvW8PqCVZg - again Nyckelharpa and harp

These were done with my Canon XHA1 camera and a couple of domestic Sony cams, but a lot of fun. I particularly like the haunting quality of the pieces on the second of these links, so hope you might drop by and comment

Lovely stuff, very elegantly played and a nice change of pace from the 'diddly'. Cheers.
That hall in Stamford is outstanding for acoustic music and certainly lends itself to these two very well - I've been to see a couple of things there in the past and I'd love to have a go there myself just to hear what it's like!

They are great, aren't they! The hall is a fab building with a big open fire about halfway down. The brown wood panels behind them can open out and there's another smaller room behind. The recording's not the best in the world on these videos but being on an elevated plot the hall is also very quiet even though it's on a busy street.

What an extraordinary thing the Nickelharpa is. It looks like a hurdy-gurdy crossed with the insides of a grand piano and the wreck of the Mary Rose. But thanks for the clips!

Excellent description! In their intro they point out that in Sweden the tradition is to make everything much more complicated than it needs to be. I had a go on it - thinking it would be easy, but it definitely isn't simple to play.

And another one (only one camera available at this point so slightly strange video editing!!):

This one's Nyckelharpa and Bagpipe - a lovely combination

Those two are amazing. It just so happens to be that Anna is my teacher of the nyckelharpa. A shame they've just had their first baby, though. My lessons are quite sparse ;)
