The Irish R.M. exists. It was an RTE/BBC TV series in the late 80s, I think. "De Danann" didn't appear as a band - the bouzouki would have been a bit incongruous to say the least, but Messrs Gavin, Daly and McDonagh appeared as a band playing for a ceili. I'm sure I have it on video tape still.
I don't think the other 2 exist, at least not officially, unless perhaps they were releases in the USA.
I don't know The Banks of the Nile was released on Decca which is a London based label for classical music. Maybe I should ask them. Anyhow what I mean by not being able to get it off the internet is I don't have a credit card. By the way, you should get that video converted and put it up on youtube, I'm sure it would be fun to watch before it gets taken down by RTE/BBC!
'Banks of the Nile' was released by Decca in 1980.
'The Irish RM' wasn't a De Dannan album, but extracts from the soundtrack to a BBC TV series. It was issued by Release Records some time in the 1980s
I've too have never heard of 'No Home is Real' and think it's a Net-created confusion. The cover of 'The Star-Spangled Molly' includes the words 'No Home is Really Happy Without Them'.
I think you're definitely right, Henk. Gael-Linn licensed 'The Mist-Covered-Covered Mountain' to Shanachie in the US and probably did the same with Decca in the UK.
Anyone know about these albums
Anyone know about these albums
By De Danann?
No Home Is Real
Banks of the Nile
The Irish RM
Are they still for sale in shops? I can't buy them off the internet so if there's a good shop in Ireland somewhere let me know.

Re: Anyone know about these albums
Search Vinyltap, and GEMM, and if you can't find them, keep an eye on Ebay. They'll turn up sooner or later, but you'll have to shell out for them.

Re: Anyone know about these albums
This 'Banks of the Nile' seems to be the phantom album, I cannot find it anywhere on the internet. I wonder did Frankie find every copy and burn it?

Re: Anyone know about these albums
Perhaps an alias of the album The Mist Covered Mountain , which contains the song 'The Banks of the Nile'?
