The caption is 'Not bad, fellas. Let's do one more take, with more emphasis on tone, harmony, melody, rhythm, composition, lyrics, musicianship, tempo and originality.'
The person who sent it to me, a producer of some sixty albums, reckons that at least five of those factors apply to his recordings of traditional albums which is why I posted the link here, GP.
Strikes me that's what a record producers job is supposed to be; getting the best out of the performers and the technicians.
It's a very big headed artist indeed who thinks he/ she/ they can record their best without a critical outside ear/ ideas machine.
And I can't see why all nine producer's parameters would not be appropriate to a Trad Irish recording session. Erm! except perhaps lyrics I guess! Composition of a set, harmony of the box basses, backers (if present) are all important.
