Ha ha ha obviously not a musician just some sort of 3d rate accompanist. To be honest I think the backing is utter crap.

Re: TG4 1985 Ag plonka - as Gaelige = Beat the hell out of

We piano tuners hate to see anything liquid on top of a piano...even if it's a fine claret...

Whats with all the head banging over an old mickey mouse song that went "Will ya get up outa that, ya impudent brat and let Mr Maguire sit down". Are we supposed to be wetting our pants with the sheer joy of it all or something. I'd certainly do more than wet mine if it was my box that was getting should harsh ill treatment.

Was that a bottle of fine claret, or plonka?

Re: TG4 1985 Ag plonka - as Gaelige = Beat the hell out of

I learned this tune as the Listowel Hornpipe. The Dan Sullivan Shamrock band recorded it in the twenties in NYC. They did this Fcked up talking tour of Ireland which I guess, in the day, was entertaining. Today it's just irritating but the tune, and the way they play it, is very cool.

Re: TG4 1985 Ag plonka - as Gaelige = Beat the hell out of

The talking tour or 'train ride' was voiced over top the music in vaudeville style. It ruined a very good tune. Always been one of my favorites and I'd love to remove the talking part from the track.
