I have been informed today by lisaniska of the sad, untimely death a week ago of Roger Dinsdale. He was a great London Irish Trad musician of banjo, mandolin and guitar (acoustic and electric). He was only in his mid forties. About fifteen years ago he brought world acclaim to the band, The Grid, with the hit instrumental track "The Swamp Thing" , coming up with the banjo riff which was the essence of that tune.
I have spoken to John G again and the funeral is this Friday 14th August in Sandy, Bedfordshire. I don't have any further details at the moment, I'm afraid. Please feel free to email me by which time we may know the exact arrangements.

We were close friends with Roger but we lost contact a few years back. Do you know the arrangements for his funeral?
