Planning to drop in here on the Sunday, but never been to a fleadh before. Anything laid on for non-players/families in the way of a day out?- the website is unhelpful on this.
Would be interested to hear from anyone who was at this one last year.
There will be stalls selling musical instruments and assorted paraphinalia, but that is likely to be it.
The fleadh is competition centric, you get lots of nice playing of music in all corners and people running around like headless chickens between all the competition venues - the trick is to find the instument(s) you want to listen to and stick in one or two competition venues and listen to the various age group competitions in those instruments (or duo/trio/groupa ceoil/ceili band).
If the weather's good, you'd be likely to get a few sessions in beer gardens, or even on the street, I expect.
Or is that restricted by licensing laws?

Twickenhams a nice enough place. Go for a trip on the river, shopping in nearby Richmond, visit Kew Gardens or the steam museum at Kew Bridge.

oh. just found the site - sessions seem to be limited to the Student Bar on campus.
