Im looking for a good irish band (tunes and songs) for a birthday party in the south of england (Salisbury ) Can any one point me to one or Web site where i can hear samples of there music .Des ps I do hope this is the right place to ask
Two Irish bands Soutahmpton and Gosport based are Kelly's Tatoo and Life O' Riley. I have never seen Kelly's Tatoo but have heard they are good. My Son plays fiddle in Life O'Riley, very lively band, but may not be suitable for delicate ears or children. http://www.thelifeoriley.co.uk/

I don't know if it's the same group referred to but some years ago there was a great Bedford based "Life of Riley" group. They did stuff ranging from Stockton's Wing to the Pogues and Saw Doctors with a few Christy Moore songs in between. Don't know if they're still on the go but they were a mighty band.
If your looking for genuine Irish rather than plastic oirish .. the fiddle player is Clive Cunningham from Derry, now living in salisbury - just about as good as it gets - one of my inspirations many years ago and now a valued Sonic Violin customer.
If you want cask Conditioned Celtic Rock and a Ceilidh then book my band

Good experienced band, good caller- no sound clips though.

Mix O'Lydian (member here) also has a ceilidh band in Bristol- might be worth an e-mail.
