Tune id, version of Paidin O'Raifeartaigh?

Tune id, version of Paidin O'Raifeartaigh?

hi, does anyone know this tune?

I've heard it at some sessions and piper played it tonight as a Connemara setting of Paidin O'Raifeartaigh, does it go by any other names?

I couldn't find it here or on Reverend's search.

This is the first part:

B2d dBd e2g gfe d2B BAG AGE DEG

Too tired to write the second, the above is probably not exact either!

All the best,
D.

Ach sh-te that is wrong, move them all right one note and make the first B last 3, I think. Sorry, I am fairly drunk! :o

It's very similar to the song Paidin O Raifeartai that Dervish sings.

might be the same version as on the new Patrick Street CD:

X: 1
T: Páidin O Raifeartaigh
M: 6/8
L: 1/8
R: jig
K: Gmaj

Re: Tune id, version of Paidin O'Raifeartaigh?

These are very like (though not identical to) the tune as played on "Tunes", by Sharon Shannon, Mike McGoldrick and others.
