For all Australian members, Antoin MacGabhann, fiddler from Co.Meath, and London banjo player Mick O'Connor will be visiting in September/October, starting with The Turning Wave Festival. I've been asked to co-ordinate some concerts for them in various parts of the country and am trying to "fill out" the period between Thur 24 September to Wednesday 30 September. Ideally they would like acoustic venues, and both musicians are keen for informal music sessions after the concerts. They are also available for workshops- fiddle, banjo, and mandoline, and I can do guitar workshops if needed. The two musos are two of the very best in traditional music and a wonderful evening of music awaits listeners wherever they appear. I can be contacted via this page or on (03) 9484 8876.
If they felt like heading up to Sydney after the Gundagai festival I'm sure we could line up a show and places for them to stay. I could give them a lift if needed.
Jimmy will be at the Quiet Man this weekend and I reckon he'd get a decent roll-up at a show in his 'shed' on the Central Coast. I'll send your message on to Mort too.
