Uileann pipes for sale

Uileann pipes for sale

Shameless, using the Mustard Board for this purpose. :)

I am selling my Mickey Dunne chanter with Eugene Lambe drones and a Jim Daly regulator:

The chanter is made of rosewood with boxwood mounts and has a Cnat key. The drones and regulator are brass and blackwood with imitation ivory mounts. I acquired the chanter in 2005 – it was my first chanter -- and it has served me well learning the pipes, having withstood world travels, sessions, and festivals everywhere from Colorado to Scotland and Ireland. It plays in tune and has a lovely sweet tone, although it can be quieter than many concert pitch sets (so ideal for living in a flat or not dominating a session). I am selling the set because I have acquired a fully keyed concert pitch chanter as well as a new set of drones, and as nice as it would be to have the two sets, I simply cannot afford to keep them both going. Would be a shame for this set to not get played so it would be happier being sold to someone who would play it.

There are some minor scratches on the drone stock as well as some dings on the end of the bass drone. The regulator needs to be re-reeded as the reed I had in it was cracked. Otherwise the set is in good playing condition. Asking £1000 for it and will include the bag and a Kilter Highland bagpipe case, in which it fits perfectly. I’m willing to ship internationally (I am based in Scotland) but the buyer would have to pay shipping cost. Email me for sound samples and pictures.

Re: Uileann pipes for sale

It is a nice sounding set and a good fair price. We have heard the set when we played in a session with you Silverspear, last Willie Week in "The Oceanview". I think your boyfriend? sat next to us, a guitar player. I was the black piper with the Williams set, still am in fact. We were in London last weekend and purchased a lovely late (2004 I believe) Dave Williams 4-key chanter and bellows.

Aye, I remember that session. A lovely wee tune. Will you be in Miltown this year? I'd love to hear the new Williams chanter. :)

Cheers, Bryan. :) I am next over in July for Willie Week.

I think so, nearly decided to go to the Tocane St. Apre gathering at the end of July instead of Willie Week, but it's a long drive down from Sweden and probably really hot in the middle of France at that time of year, not good for the pipes. So I hope to get to Miltown for 3-4 days, hope the Blondes is still going, leave on the Thursday before it gets too mad and crowded and head down to Ballyferriter, Con Durham's down there and Cillian, nice sessions
