Shame that neither Brendan Larrisey or Conor Keane have been mentioned in the Arcady write up. Two of the most underrated players of our time in my opinion.
Why do we need awards, and who decides the outcome anyway? Does an award make you a better player...does it heck! It always seem to be the usual suspects who are nominated anyway.
I mean...what about the thousands of players who never made a recording, never appeared on the Telly or the radio. Yet, they've played, enjoyed, and in their own way, promoted the music all their lives. In my opinion awards should only be made for bravery and unpaid voluntary work. Personally speaking, there are some London pubs that I played in over the past 40 years, where I feel I should have qualified for a bravery award. Still, I got away unscathed, so I suppose I should be thankful....!

Some funny lists of nominees - especially the young bands and 'Revival Groups' (I kid you not).
