Has anyone here checked out www.onlinesessions.com? Except for a free trial week it's not free, but it's not too dear/expensive, either. I live in the northeastern US and have been jamming with others from Texas, Illinios, and the great west and northwest the past few evenings. Most of those I meet are rock-n-rollers, so that's what I'm doing with them right now. But anyone can set up a new room (remember AOL chat rooms?) and call it what they will and jam with their own select group. I would definitely welcome an opportunity to play itm.
It does require some setup time to get configured. For example, I had to buy myself a decent USB microphone and decent headphones. Some people apparently buy themselves a small mixer board and premix vocals and instrument before going into their computer. Last night we had accoustic guitar, electric lead, bass, drums, and vocals. The night before it was me on vocals and accoustic guitar, and a keyboard player, covering 80's hits.
I paid $50 US for a year's subscription, which is a limited time offer. I have NO affilliation with the website. I was just searching around a week ago to try to discover what Web 2.0 has brought us. I was pleasantly surprised.
