I learned a French Canadian reel a while ago but forgot the 2nd part.
The 1st part goes like this:
DGBGc2DD | DGBGEEFE | DGBGCGBG | AcFGABG
where the first F is nat, the second is sharp.
So: does any one know the 2nd part, and what 's the name of the tune (it was handed over to me as 'le Saut du Lapin' and I found a tune on the web by that name, but that was not the one I'm looking for).
No luck with the Reverend's ABC tune search as well.
Actually, c, both snowshoe hare and jackrabbits are true hares and quite common throughout the western US. Some stretches of highway out here are paved with hare pieces....
Stop rabbiting on off-topic, please, and lets resume session.org business as usual, stewing over annoying drummers, learning off dots, etc. Otherwise this will warren Jeremy deleting the thread.

Hi all,

DISCLAIMER:
No, I don't have a recording of it !

Re: French Canadian tune id
That was only the half of the 1st part; it's simply repeated and then ends on G4 instead of GABG.

translation; Hop of the Rabbit

Re: French Canadian tune id
I'll bet you that your average Nord Americaner hasn't a clue what a hare is... They probably think it's a toupé, a 'hare piece'...

Re: French Canadian tune id
Will, any idea what 'Accentuer le contre-temps (les 7 poussés)' means? Something like accents on the off beat, 7th note of each bar is up bow?
# Posted on April 27th 2009 by Henk Bos
Re: French Canadian tune id
Yes, Henk, accent the off beat--the 7th note of each bar. That's a French-Canadian fiddle thing.
