16in Tunable bodhran, 3in rim, T shaped crossbar, black leather trim stamped with irish harp design. Bought from Eagle music, Irish made, lovely sound, not a cheap churned out version.
Comes with 5 tippers.
Hardly used it, my wrist struggles with playing after breaking it. (my wrist that is, not the bodhran !)

Tunable bodhran? Does that mean that that you can play tunes on it?

If so, send an email to Llig - you never know, he might be interested ...

That oxymoron has always tickled me ... Tunable Bodhran.
Eedjits with their little feckin allen keys. Has anyone ever heard one go, "shushhh, just one A at a time please, I'm trying to tune up here."

Re: 16in Tunable Bodhran for sale
Actually the idea of tuning a bodhran is not all that odd. Timpani are adjusted in the same way and it also called "tuning."
eg. http://www.bandusa.com/Information/TympaniTuning.Html
Likewise, other drums as well:
eg. http://www.improveyourmusic.com/how-to-tune-your-bass-drum/
http://www.acousticdrums.com/members/tuning_snare.html
http://www.ehow.com/how_15100_tune-drum-set.html
Seems to me that the term "tuning" is the usual term applied to adjusting the drum head tension.

Re: 16in Tunable Bodhran for sale
Ah. Now I understand. Llig has explained it perfectly.

You CAN play tunes on bodhrans, but only the ones set in one of the Allen keys ....
... Our local supermarket is now selling tunable bodhrans.
You'll find them in the "oxymorons" section, alongside the decaffeinated coffee, alchohol-free lager and vegetarian haggis...
This same supermarket is always banging on about business ethics ....
"Business ethics"? Hmm .... Yet another oxymoron ....
