Did anyone hear the Joe Duffy show - Liveline on RTE Radio one - on Tuesday 24th. Seemingly an Irish Pub owner is trying to find the trad musician from Ireland who trashed the Hilton hotel room he booked for him causing £15,000 damage.
My f'n radio archive seems to not work with RTE radio for some reason. Enlighten please........

Busking there 30 years ago, I found Geneva quite laid back about it. This was because it's French. In Germany and the Swiss German towns, plainclothes police seemed to jump up from the pavement on springs whenever I tried it on - showing their pass and giving me the rules, and/or moving me on. All quite civil, and I had some pleasant days in these places, but it did strike me as, well, rather obsessively *regulated*...I wondered whether for every plainclothes cop who surfaced before me there was a whole shoal of others, swimming through the crowds like invisible fish.

I heard that program. The publican said he knew who the guy was all right. No name given on the radio just that he's 20 years old . The publican has contacted the trashers mammy who, he said, is quite well known in the legal profession. The mammy doesn't appear to want to know about the incident. The rest of the band have disowned the trasher and the publican bears no grudge against them.

It's got nothing to do with being a trad musician opr not. If someone books you a room at the Hilton, you trash it. It's just what you do. Now leave the poor lad alone.

Whats a trad musician doing in Switserland anyway? One might hope he/she was playing a gig......so...all you have to do is look up any and all trad bands with 20 year olds in it.....and see if they where in the country the night of the trashing incident. its simple really

I think you can reduce the suspects to a few watching the pics (see above). Anyway the person is known to the publican. I have a guess: he pints for the member of the bands are for free, that's the way of life in Switzerland.....
