I need some help!
I'm searching a page with free sheet-musig for Gypsy-tunes. Tears, MInor Swing ect. (In the same way like "the session.org")
Thank you!!
Sheet music is not the way into playing Gypsy Jazz. It's not just a melodic line. You need to understand the chord structure and rhythm (le Pompe!) first - then you have to learn to smoke a lot and get the right haircut.

Re: Free Gypsy-sheet-music
You mean hot jazz, not Taraf de Haiduks...Tougher to find as most of it is copyrighted, not traditional.

Re: Free Gypsy-sheet-music
To slightly elaborate: they are to gypsy music what the bothy band is to irish. Fake.

Re: Free Gypsy-sheet-music
More elaboration: the rhythm is wrong. End of story. Why is it so hard for all these bands to popularise? The rhythm - the real rhythm is always lost?
We just listened to Seamus Creagh on Geantrai on my darlings birthday for the date. Him and Jackie Daly - there was some rhythm.
I remember hearing Taraf etc - they were sh*te. Flashy, and no substance. I left early. My wife and friends were mortified. We caught up later.

Re: Free Gypsy-sheet-music
Random - I love Paddy Keenan, Tommy Peoples, Molloy etc. But not that enamoured of the thrash backing section they used to play with.
