Last Wednesday 4th March I was presented with a brand new custom designed Clareen Setanta Banjo, the new top of the range banjo from Ireland's premier banjo maker Tom Cussen of Clarinbridge, Galway.
The banjo is full flange, walnut burl, gold plated with a mother-of-pearl vine of life neck inlay.
That's neat: mother-of-pearl from the home of the oyster! Every time I see that "Home of the Oyster" sign on the N18 in Clarinbridge, I can't help but wonder which house it lives in.
lovely banjo Enda and Tom. If I ever win the lotto I will pop out to Tom and buy one! My current banjo was bought from Toms shop, buts not a Clareen, tis an old American one (Stromberg Voisinet), which I am very happy with.

Re: New Clareen Setanta Banjo
Thanks for that link. I couldn't decide between gold and nickel finish, so I ordered one of each.

Alright that is pretty sweet. Enda, I'll be in Galway in April, do you play any regular sessions that I could stop in for a pint?
