Tebaldo feeling well again

Tebaldo feeling well again

You will all recall my horrific experience when my Monzani and Hill flute was damaged a few months ago.

The flute went down to Sam Murray in Galway and although it took about four months and a zillion phone calls, I finally got it back the day before Clonmel. [11 Hour Journey there and back the day before a 5 hour trip to Clonmel !!]

Absolutely incredible piece of workmanship. Sam cut off the damaged section and used a piece of blackwood to build the flute back up. Although the Monzani is made of Cocus, the blackwood blends in perfectly. He even matched the grain to the original!

It's now playing better than ever - possibly due to the fact that I have been playing a Clinton for the last few months that required me to rethink my embouchure and breathing. It took a lot more out of me than the Monzani.

So - all's well that ends well.

What a relief!

Re: Tebaldo feeling well again

You've just reminded me - I must send my one down to him...before the end of this decade....
