Pub Twinning

Pub Twinning

I started a discussion last year re Cultural Exchange and pub twinning. Short discussion it was too, no contributers.

Anyway, I write now to inform that the Hotel Le Cheval Blanc in Plancoet Brittany will twin with 'Spells' music bar in Ballaghadereen, Co. Roscommon, Ireland.

So, if there is any more pub twinning going on I would like to hear from you. Merci

Re: Pub Twinning

Well can you tell us anything more about the project. What does this twinning mean? What will it involve?

Re: Pub Twinning

The two pubs share toilet facilities to cut costs.

Re: Pub Twinning

My concept of twinning is more related to towns where councils arrange a twin setup with another nice town. This then means that the councillors from both towns can travel to these other places on ratepayers funds - work trip of course.
But I suppose we could do a bit of session twinning. Especially if the older more established sessions (maybe in Ireland) were willing to mentor the new one (maybe in Oz). Then we could travel to each others' sessions on the proceeds from the landlord and punter contributions - or not.....

Re: Pub Twinning

Close Gary. Actually, pub twinning is where you visit other places to carve eachothers' names above the toilet.

Re: Pub Twinning

Have you noticed most towns and cities in Ireland are twinned with somewhere in Brittany. Nice!
Pub twinning sounds like a good excuse for an over seas p*ss up and tunes.
