New free online metronome, tuner, and tuning fork from the developers of "Transcribe!"

New free online metronome, tuner, and tuning fork from the developers of "Transcribe!"

My very favorite software developers have put up a few online music programs for free, they run as Java apps in a browser, so no need to download anything:

The Seventh String Metronome

The Seventh String Tuner

The Seventh String Tuning Fork

how useful

(for people who want to tune their instrument or practise at a particular tempo of course)

how useful

(for the computer age .... )

And wouldn't this music be so much better if those who created it had such vital tools?

Re: New free online metronome, tuner, and tuning fork from the developers of "Transcribe!"

llig: I fail to understand how either the metronome or the tuning fork could be of any use whatsoever to those without ears.

Am I missing something?

I have very good ears, yet I depend on my A440 tuning fork to tune pianos.

Re: New free online metronome, tuner, and tuning fork from the developers of "Transcribe!"

(how useless)

for those hanging on to a genetic hierarchy

{not to say a class one}

{not say another weird classification system}

Does this mean I have to unplug the computer, load it into the van, set it up at the session ( Idon't know where!), so I can tune up the old banjo.

As dependent on tuners as I am I'd rather use my ears!!!....

And wouldn't the music be so much better if those old blind harpers had been able to see!

Mind you if those illiterate peasants had had access to the internet they'd have spent all day downloading pictures of potatoes, so there'd be no music anyway.

Mike - you're responsible for my monitor being spattered with coffee! Phwoah, look at the eyes on that one...

Re: New free online metronome, tuner, and tuning fork from the developers of "Transcribe!"

Maybe it's me, but I tried Transcribe two times and found it very difficult to use for just basic slowing down and looping, so I gave up. Amazing Slow Downer was much easier. Sorry for being critical, but I just wondered if anyone else ever found this to be true?
