It's The New Rigged Ship http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/880
It comes originally from Shetland, but has found is way into the general session repertoire in Ireland in the last few decades.
Isn't it a shame you don't hear more tubas in sessions?
Ditto what Bogman said. The Full Rigged Ship ( http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/878 ) is related to the New Rigged - in Shetland they often follow the jig with the reel.
Scottish (?) Tune ID
Scottish (?) Tune ID
Hi folks,
I wonder can anyone here give me the name of the third tune in this set: (it starts around 3.07)
I've already tried the ABC search here, and Reverend's ABC search too, and still no joy (maybe because I don't know how to use them properly)

Thanks

Re: Scottish (?) Tune ID
Altan played it after Donal agus Morag on their Harvest Storm album and Four Men and a Dog call it Unknown Shetland Tune on their Barking Mad album

Re: Scottish (?) Tune ID
Yes Jim, that's the New rigged Ship your playing there, the Full Rigged is a jig as is the Rigged Ship. They like their boaties up there in Shetland
