Anyone interested in starting / helping to start a slow session--Leeds area?

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone was interested in starting up (or helping me to start up) a slow players session in the Leeds, W. Yorkshire area. As far as I know one does not exist currently.

We'd need to figure out a location for it and when and how often we would meet. I was thinking maybe once every other week.

You can email me through this site if that seems more appropriate than posting here about it.

Hi Andee,
I live near Halifax and work in Leeds so I am interested if you get a session going. I go to one or two quite 'fast' sessions, but not one in Leeds so far.

What do you mean by 'slow'? I know it can be very annoying when the speed merchants get cracking and I sometimes have to give up, but your idea of slow and mine may be poles apart. Would you care to give preferred typical metronome guides for reels, for instance?

Cheers.

Hi straysider. So far I've gotten two emails from interested people. One from someone who used to run a slow session on Saturday afternoons in a pub in Bradford which she says she could probably get going again if a few others were interested.

I used to play in normal sessions, but due to many reasons my chops aren't as good as they once were and I was hoping for a relaxed, supportive and non-competitive atmosphere, hopefully with few to no punters.

I wouldn't have any exact metronome guides, but I'd say at the speed that Peter Cooper plays on his learning CD. Of course it could be faster if we were all comfortable with the particular tune.

So yeah, most experienced session players would consider the pace slow, I guess.

Oh, correction: not a pub in Bradford, but the Irish Centre in Bradford--even better!
