Does anyone have names for these 2 jigs? Always nice to hear an "F" jig, especially when Nuala's playing it. Have'nt come across the fiddler before.(I live in Melbourne and only get to Ireland every few years).
Oops! Forgot the link. Many thanks Clear Drops. They are the two jigs I was referring to.Yes it was a bit hot here at home, 46 today,23 tommorrow. Don't leave your instrument in the car!
How does F resonate on the banjo? I love playing in F on the fiddle, it rings out so nicely. It's a shame so many people are opposed to playing in this key...

Re: Jig Names
Yeah, they're definitely slip jigs. They are also known as Jesus's Revenge and The Devil's Mercy.

Re: Jig Names
Sorry, but spare a thought for those in Melbourne at the moment ... they're experiencing a heat wave and they've got bushfires ... so go easy, hey!

Joe Liddy's is as good a name as any, but pedantry can be harnessed with a little bit of cunning...
