Should be an interesting Geantrai programme tonight from The Oarsman in Ringsend, Dublin. Oscar-winner Glen Hansard is apparently going to do a song. The shows being presented by The Frames fiddler Colm Mac an Iomaire. Also appearing will be piper Eoin Dillon and Harpist Paul Dooley.
Thanks for the 'heads up" macc. I was wondering what had become of Paul Dooley as the last time I'd seen him was around Ennistymon, Lahinch and Moher (he was busking at the cliffs) 15 or so years ago. He played an unusual type of harp but the music was excellent.
Talking of TG4, there's a great programme on there at the minute that won't please the purists but the musicianship is mighty - Sharon Shannon, Winnie Horan, and Gerry O'Connor on banjo to name but a few.
don't suppose anyone knows how to view Geantrai/TV on an iMac?
(just bought one, and downloaded Win Media Player 9, installed it, but i still get a message on the tg4.ie site that i need to install Media Player).
I can run and use Media Player on its own, but maybe I need to do some further configuration in Safari (or just install MS Internet Explorer maybe?)
Any help would be appreciated - in the 'search' tab I don't seem to be able to narrow it down to a relevant discussion...I'm sure it's come up as a question in the past though (just can't find it).
thanks!
andy
TG4's website is a bit dodgy, but after a lot of painful experimentation I found that the following works (on a MacBook Pro): install Flip4Mac, and run TG4's WebTV in Safari. It won't work with Firefox or Internet Explorer, and doesn't run on Windows emulators.

Re: Oscar-winner on Geantrai
I have a PC & use Firefox. So I don't know about Macs. The only lead I can give you is that some members say they use Flip4Mac.
Hope that helps.

Re: Oscar-winner on Geantrai
Anyone know what type of fiddle Colm Mac Con Iomaire was playing on the show tonight?
