Likely the poster is a joker: no profile and no history.
We all know there can be little errors in tunes people have picked up by ear but most tunes posted are really good guides, pointers to get you started. Surely no one expects any more?!
The [Tunes] comments (w/additional abcs) may also be flawed.
They are, however, an excellent resource for exchanging our similarities & differences in a written form.

I'll look for 2 more.
In the meantime . . .
Many, many, many individual submit tunes.
abc & transcription abilities vary accordingly.
The choices (& actions) are as follows;
- the original abc may be edited at any time by the poster.
- the sheet music (.gif) & (.midi) stay the same.
- any member can submit another name for the tune.
- any member can enter a comment with a different 'take' on the tune.
- any member can submit a (new) tune under a title which has previously been submitted.
- tunes which are considered duplicates are sometimes combined.
- the webmaster is the final arbiter.
~ rule of thumb on original compositions;
for each original 5 trad tunes should be submitted.
1.) You can always set us right. That's what the 'comments' can be used for, and often are. If you think it's 'wrong', or have a different take on a tune, add your ABCs to the comments.
2.) If an existing transcription on site here really is way off the mark, resubmissions have been known to survive, especially if there isn't already a reasonable take on site... In a few rare instances there are even as many as four different transcriptions of the same tune existant here as separate entries, along with triplicates and duplications...
Sorry Random_notes, I took off the jokes pages because I never got any new ones and looking at the hits to the site, I never saw anyone looking at that page! I can put them back if you like, or just email you the ones I had If you do find anything else about the site you would like to comment on, just use the email link on the page, which comes directly to me.
As for incorrectly notated tunes - I simply don't have any. Possibly have some interesting (and perhaps strange sounding) variations but there you go ...
thanks lildogturpy. I enjoyed the jokes.
No, you don't have to put them back (nor email any).
The tunes are much more important. You have a good variety & it is great that you list composers.
Cheers!

since I am new, I can't find how to start a thread.
But I have searched for abc tunes here and most are wrong or written wrong.
Isn’t there some way that you people can check what you have written so it sound even close to the original tune?
What is the point of posting the wrong tune with the wrong name? Is it ego to say you did something? Doing it wrong is not anything to brag about.
I have looked for 30-40 tunes on here and 90 percent are flat out wrong. How does that help in any session that is trying to learn a tune?
I don't expect a reply, this site seems pretty dead, But will someone please start to get rid of the junk that is being posted as tunes?
