Argyll fiddle tutor?

Argyll fiddle tutor?

I have dusted off the fiddle that has been hiding in my loft for 4 years and would love to be able to play it.......! Does anyone know of a fiddle tutor in Argyll (West Scotland)? I have looked on the net with no luck.

Hope you can help, thanks, Lou.

Re: Argyll fiddle tutor?

Hi kilmartinlou - I assume that's where you're based. I'm not far from Kilmartin, and know of tutors in Mid-Argyll (one is a fiddle tutor, the other a violin tutor). I'll also be able to find out about who's teaching up Oban direction if you want, as I'm up that way quite often. I'm also aware of players down in Campbeltown. There are also some folks around Inverary, but I don't really know them. You could also try the Lochgoilhead fiddle workshop - but I'm not sure what they're up to with respect to teaching at this moment in time - see:

Drop me an e-mail through this site if you want me to look into things for you.

Cheers,

Ron

Re: Argyll fiddle tutor?

Or ...... why not ask Ron himself to teach you.

He is a very fine musician indeed & not only would he be fit to teach you how to play, but he is also a wonderful Guitar player, so he could provide excellent Guitar backing for you too, when you start gigging with your Fiddle & for your first recording! ;-)

.... & he's about to send me a fiver! :-D
