Was invited down to the Cobblestone in Dublin there on Thursday for the album launch of Neill Lyon's new album "Skins & Sins". It was a brilliant night, I'm sure a good few contributers and watchers of the session website were there also.
The night kicked off with a nice slide-show compiled by Dublin's Dónal Ó Conchobhair, who also designed the album cover, with the tracks from being played through the PA system - it worked really nicely.
Then the night continued with the majority of contributors to the album, all joining Neill in amazing show of music. Just to give you a snippet of whose playing music on the album, we have:
Neill Lyons (Bodhrán), Paul McNevin (Fiddle), Éamonn De Barra (Flute), Peter Browne (Accordion), Leonard Barry (Uilleann Pipes), Mick Broderick (Bouzouki, Cittern, Mandolin), Fionán De Barra (Guitar), Alan Byrne (Banjo), Helen Lyons (Harp), Brian Lyons (Bouzouki), Barry Lyons (Fiddle), Conor Lyons (Bodhrán), Aido Lawlor (Guitar), Shane McGowan (Guitar), Michelle O’Brien (Fiddle), Andy Morrow (Fiddle)
A really nice selection of musicians! The night went really smoothly and continued on to the wee hours in different houses across the capital.
Hopefully there will be some photos and videos of the album launch surfacing in the next few days, as everyone recovers from what was a fantastic night of music, and will be added to the "News" section of:

In the meantime there are a lot of very tasty music samples from the album, in both the "Music Samples" and "New Album" sections.
Best,
