Name the tune?

Name the tune?

I woke up with some tune in my head a few days ago. Can't remember what's that, but pretty sure it's something well-known. I tried to play it, but most likely is that I got it wrong. Here's the mp3 anyway: http://www.sendspace.com/file/nfgs59

Sounds scottish, maybe the 1st part of some march or strathspey. Does anyone know what's that?

Re: Name the tune?

Can't exactly identify the tune, but so grateful for the scratchcard and poker pop-ups that come with the link!

Tha mi Sgith

The actual name is Tha Mi Sgith (ski). It's a gaelic port a beul that's usually played in a much straighter fashion than Silly Wizards great strathspey version. Cutting Bracken is the name to a jig version of the tune.

"Cutting Ferns" / "Cutting Bracken" / "Tha Mi Sgìth" (the song)

This is well known and well played in the Maritimes, where I first learned it, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, and a popular strathspey for step dancing...
