My first recording playing Trad!!!

My first recording playing Trad!!!

I'm the dork with the pizza shirt and the fiddle.

Not the greatest sound quality, but it kind of captures the craic.

Hopefully I'll have some clearer recordings up soon.

Good swing. Do you mind if I say your intonation needs some attention?

Like your name BTW, I was born in Steenwijk, The Netherlands.

Holy Cr@p!!!!!! It's Eamonn!!! Had lots of great tunes and great times with yer man in the wilds of Southeastern Fla. a few years back. Eamonn, if you're out there, if you can hear me, give us a shout.... the piper from "Mooncoin"

Re: My first recording playing Trad!!!

Eamon from Belfast ?- I heard him play better - a bit ropy lads but I've been in that gig situation before, esp in the US, where my heart isn't in it and I just want to drink and chase women.

Re: My first recording playing Trad!!!

You make a good sound together. I look forward to hearing more.

If I may offer a nugget of constructive criticism, Jason, I would suggest listening to a few recordings of Jenny's WTC (or, dare I say it, even referring to a few tunebooks!) - you appeared to be confusing the B-part with another tune and 'smudging' some of the detail in the other parts. But it might just have been the pressure of playing before an audience - I'm not a 'performer' myself and I know I how being in a performing situation can sometimes reduce the tunes you think you know intimately to a veritable hutspot.

Disclaimer: 1. My fiddle playing is not a scratch on yours.
2. I like to think that I give due respect to the individuality of tunes, but I could be deluded.

Re: My first recording playing Trad!!!

Nice stuff Jason! - correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I had a few tunes with you in Phoenix about 3 or 4 years ago..

You played a lovely version of Maudabawn Chapel if memory serves...

Re: My first recording playing Trad!!!

Well, I play "A" version of Maudabawn Chapel. Dunno about lovely, but yes, I was in Phoenix in August of 06, and I did play Maudabawn Chapel there, and had a terrific time with all of yas! I'd love to come back soon!

Give Chris B., my best, if you see him.

Many thanks on the feedback, gents and ladies.
