Thanks Murcu - what a fantastic performance. There was some lovely un-obtrusive chording there plus lots of other things happening and the clip definitely warrants a re-visit. I wasn't at the competition and so haven't heard the rest of the competitors but, listening to this, it's hard to understand how Bronwyn didn't win it.
I absolutely love her playing. Out of all the whippersnappers they have on the Comhaltas site, she's far and away the most wonderful player there. I hope she turns pro and makes some recordings!
Sorry Murcu, I didn't know the name of the jig either. I see Bronwyn now and again in Ennis so I'll remember to ask her for the name; I'll also pass on the compliments above which I'm sure she'll be delighted about.
Many Thanks Gary.
Wonderful playing in both video's by Bronwyn. The character of the tune changes very much when played in the diffent keys. I think the C version is my favourite with those lovely base notes but the tune is pure Tommy Peoples when played in G.
Thanks Gary. Isn't coincidence an amazing thing in that the recent thread on Tommy prompted me to flag up a couple of his great jigs at http://www.thesession.org/discussions/display/19499 this morning while at the same time a clip of Bronwyn playing another of his tunes was being discussed.

Re: Name this Jig
Here she is playing it in G Dorian, as opposed to C Dorian in the competition:
