Fiddler wanted...

Fiddler wanted...

Pink Froot plays our own brand of trad folk + a bit of other stuff. We do gigs. We're looking for an experienced fiddler, grounded in trad folk, and who loves to improvise, and who can play sloooowww sometimes....

Please get in touch.

Re: Fiddler wanted...

I believe Pink Froot is based in the Bristol area in England - a little way from Western Massachusetts!

Re: Fiddler wanted...

I wonder if one of these days you'll remember where you live:

No bother, though, as this person seems to have no idea either:

A perfect match?

Re: Fiddler wanted...

Very droll Sue, but well deserved.

Re: Fiddler wanted...

Re various previous discussions; a brief potted biography, instruments played, length of experience, general residential area, is always helpful to other posters. Exact personal identification is not required. Embroidery for the sake of amusement, even embroidery of the biog., is also entertaining.
Please remember that this is an international forum, not only used within the english and gaelic-speaking worlds.

Re: Fiddler wanted...

International....as in the person who wanted a musician in the south Jersey area. If I'd been back home on holiday I'd have only been 30 miles away, but of course they meant NEW Jersey.
Hew, there's some people playing music in the old Jersey too, you know.

Re: Fiddler wanted...

Yes - guilty as you all evidently delight in pointing out! it's usually because I do these things last thing at night when I should know better.

OK - start again:

We're seeking a fiddle player (in Bristol UK area), well grounded in traditional folk, yet able to improvise with passion, originality and flair, from slow’n’haunting to fast’n’wild. Currently vocals, guitar, flute, bodhran and bass, we create our own interpretations of Scots/Irish/English folk songs/tunes (mainly traditional, some contemporary, some self-composed).
This summer we've been playing gigs at local events and folk festivals, with more planned.

Nicholas - that is one strange application....

:)

Re: Fiddler wanted...

But you still haven't posted a biog, Sue. Doesn't all have to be true, or incriminating.

Re: Fiddler wanted...

I feel I've given adequate details for a first announcement. There is such a thing as too much detail. If anyone's interested, they can ask me for the details they want to know. There are also fuller details on our myspace page (no prizes for guessing its address).

:)
